Saturday Snapshot: Fright Night

This one is in honor of Halloween. And it really is a snapshot. I've posted it before, but it always gives me a chuckle. It's a snap of myself and my younger cousin back in 1950-something, getting ready for trick-or-treat night. I'm the one on my knees in a (believe it or not) cat costume, sharpening my claws on my cousin's five- or six-year-old body!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books, and as she says: "To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online."

SkyWatch Friday: Watching the Sky Watcher

Here's a shot of the hubby doing a little sky-watching in Shenandoah National Park, this past summer. We're hoping to get over there for another brief visit soon -- the trees should be really pretty just about now.

SkyWatch Friday: Back When

Our skies here in Northern Virginia haven't been too interesting lately -- mostly dark, gray, and pouring with rain. So here's a shot from last year, around this time, taken during our trip to Texas. What a difference a year makes! This was taken back when the Texas lakes actually had water in them. Wish we could send some of this rain down south -- they could use it and we could certainly use the break.
