Beach Blues: Got Books?

Blue Monday is hosted weekly by Smiling Sally.
To see more offerings, or to participate yourself, please head on over to her blog.

Yet another photo from our recent beach trip (ah, fond memories!). This time we've got a shot of people reading on the beach (one of my favorite subjects), with lots of blue bits thrown in -- even a teensy part of a blue beach hat, down in the corner.

Saturday Snapshot: Garden Figures

Here are a couple more photos from our beach week, earlier this month. Shots of the figures decorating the exterior of one of our favorite restaurants in Rehoboth Beach.
The mannequins are painted with gold metallic paint, and are lit with Christmas tree lights at night.
A little eerie. A little kitschy. But the food is great!

Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books, and as she says: "To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online."

Friday Fill-Ins

Wow, Friday again so soon! This summer has really slipped away from me, I'm afraid. It's already time for another round of Friday Fill-Ins, so here we go (prompts in boldface, answers in italics):

1. It's fun to waste time playing with my blogs. Wasting time is my favorite sport.

2. Anything that is easy to make is what I'll be fixing for dinner.

3. I like to be somewhere cool when it's hot outside. I think the person who invented air-conditioning should be nominated for sainthood.

4. Just who are the Kardashians? I will never know!

5. Something I'm very much excited about is my (soon to be received) birthday gift from the hubby. I just haven't quite decided exactly what he'll be giving me this year.

6. ------- was well worth it. Hmmmm. Not sure about this one. My brain is short-circuiting again.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a nice quiet evening with the hubby and maybe one of our Netflix movies, tomorrow my plans include not much of anything at the moment (I love that) and Sunday, I want to get some reading done!

Blue Monday: Blue Eatery

Blue Monday is hosted weekly by Smiling Sally.
To see more offerings, or to participate yourself, please head on over to her blog.

The hubby and I recently spent a week in Rehoboth Beach DE, just relaxing and soaking up the sun (well, trying to -- between rain showers). Rehoboth is our favorite nearby seaside place, and we try to spend at least a few days there every summer. And when we're not on the sand, it's fun just to walk around the little beach community, checking out the shops and cottages. Many of them are painted bright colors and have interesting artwork. These shots are of one of the local restaurants (the Iguana Grill -- and no, I don't work for them and they're not paying me to post these photos) which is painted many colors -- and some of them are blue-ish.

Hard to get a good shot of the front because of all the cars and power lines.

And here's a look at the mural painted on the side of the building.
Of course, there would be lots of iguanas.

I'll be posting more photos from our Rehoboth trip later in the week. I'm already wishing we were back on the beach!

Friday Fill-Ins

Wow, it's been a really long time since I did one of these Friday Fill-Ins posts. Where've I been? I have no idea, but here goes (prompts in boldface, answers in italics):

1. The only question is what is the answer. No -- what was the question?

2. Rome wasn't built in one day. So they tell me, anyway. (Believe it or not, I wasn't there.)

3. Three things on my desk: my computer; my iPod; a mess of pens and papers. (Emphasis on MESS).

4. Wake up is the one thing I HAVE to do today!

5. I love playing with dolls. Still a kid at heart.

6. Summertime overwhelms the senses. At least, it has this year.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to getting back to normal after my visit to the dentist yesterday, tomorrow my plans include a little shopping and errand running (and no visits to the dentist!), and Sunday, I want to just relax and try to get some reading done!
