Cat Thursday: Mainzer Cats
This is a postcard by artist Alfred Mainzer. Mainzer was famous for his "dressed cats" postcards which showed felines dressed like people and engaging in all sorts of people-type activities. This card is probably from the late 1940s or early '50s. The great thing about Mainzer's cards, aside from the humor, is the wonderful detail he packed into each picture. I love the "Miau-Miu" airline in this one.

ReplyDeleteGood Morning Sweet Joy...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful share this morning. I love the cat stewardess who appears that she has walked cat grandchildren down to the cat grandparents. She is also carrying a Miau-Miu airline bag. This is SO cute. Thank you for sharing.
Happy New Year sweet friend. Love, Sherry
