OK, the year is almost half a month old now, and I know everyone is sick to death of seeing Christmas photos. But I just had to put up one last one. This was a gift from my cousin MLB. Beautiful, isn't it? She does such gorgeous stitching. And it's very special because she made it herself and because it's my name!
And now she's got me thinking about doing some needlepoint again after many years. So maybe I'll pull out one of those unfinished projects for the new year. Although, when it comes to needlework, I really am much better at photographing it!
Saturday Snapshot is hosted by Alyce of At Home With Books, and as she says: "To participate in the Saturday Snapshot meme post a photo that you (or a friend or family member) have taken then leave a direct link to your post in the Mister Linky. Photos can be old or new, and be of any subject as long as they are clean and appropriate for all eyes to see. How much detail you give in the caption is entirely up to you. Please don't post random photos that you find online."
I do adore needlepoint...wish I could do it...sigh.
ReplyDeleteGreat ornament!
Here's MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT and here’s
MY WEBSITE
This is really pretty. Wonderful work. I've not ever done needlepoint, but I did do cross stitch for a long time. I'd like to get back to that.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you like it! When I found the pattern at the little store in Arlington, I knew it would be for you! Once you start looking, it is amazing how many Christmas things say "Joy" on it. And, I know your favorite color is blue! It was probably most thought through gift. I hadn't made too many ornaments before but I think I might be addicted!
ReplyDeleteKay and Laurel -- thank you!
That is cute and sweet - especially the play on your name! I've never had the patience for needlework projects, but I admire those who do.
ReplyDeleteIt's been some time since I did needlework. I've done both needlepoint and cross stitch, and embroidery a longer time ago.
ReplyDeleteA lovely gift; how lucky you are!
Hoe cute is that?! I had to look twice to see that it was actually a little ornament and not a cushion.
ReplyDeleteI love doing needlepoint. I have been doing a lot more knitting in recent years, but it's so cool to create something beautiful out of a plain piece of cloth.
ReplyDeleteThat's very pretty. I've never tried needlepoint.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing the handmade creations of others; lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely ornament! She does great cross-stitch. It's cute that it includes your name.
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too much Christmas. She did a great job. ( I still have my tree up)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I miss doing cross-stitch, but I am afraid I'd need a magnifier now!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you decided to post a Christmas picture. Good luck with your needlepoint.
