Blue Monday: Sand Dollar Ornament

Whenever we travel, I like to bring back small souvenirs that I can use as Christmas tree ornaments. That way, I get to relive the trip once a year when we pull out all the Christmas decorations. Last August, on our annual visit to Rehoboth Beach DE, I bought this memento at the Christmas shop there. These are made from real sand dollars that wash up on the beach, so they're very fragile. Which means, of course, that this is one ornament that may not be around too long (OK, I admit it – I'm a klutz). So I thought I'd better take a photo right away, to remember it by!

  1. I like to bring things into my home that remind me of places I've visited too.

This is one more thing we have in common. And another: although I've not broken any ornaments this year, I broke a record three last year! Happy Blue Monday!

  2. I love that ornament, Joy! I have some a friend of mine made, and I'm always so cautious with them because they're delicate. I particularly love the dolphins on these. I love to see them swim in the bay at St. Augustine! :-)

    Happy Blue Monday!

    XO,

  4. That is a pretty ornament. I am sure it brings back great memories.

I have broken countless ornaments, which is why I won't buy any that cost a lot of money.

  5. As Betsy said, we try to find ornaments on our trips as well. Our Christmas tree doubles as a memory tree.

Welcome to Joysweb! And thanks for leaving me a comment. I love to hear from visitors. From time to time, I might have to moderate comments - I know that's not very hospitable, so I try to do it only on posts that are more than a few days old. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Also, please note that while I appreciate blog awards, I don't play award tag games. I think you all deserve awards!
