Friday Fill-Ins #101

Another Friday and another Fill-Ins. Christmas is getting really close now, isn't it? And doesn't it seem like the period between Thanksgiving and Christmas gets shorter every year? I may be slowing down, but time seems to be speeding up. Oh well, here goes:

1. Snow looks absolutely beautiful in magazines and movies. And even when it's falling outside my window. I could look at it for hours – honestly. As long as I don't have to go out in it, I'll be fine.

2. This weekend I'm looking forward to getting all the Christmas cards addressed, all the gifts mailed, and all the decorations up. I'm also looking forward to drinking quite a lot of sherry.

3. This year's Christmas tree is the best Christmas tree ever! That's what we say every year when we get the tree up, even the tiny artificial tree we've been decorating for the last few years.

4. One of my favorite old tv shows is "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

5. I'm done with "real" Christmas trees – M. and I both seem to be allergic to fir, pine, and spruce. Bummer.

6. The most enjoyable thing around the holidays is my husband taking his Christmas vacation and not having to go to work for a week or so. (And all the Christmas movies, of course.)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing up the Christmas cards, and watching "Numb3rs" on TV, tomorrow my plans include staying out of the snow (if it gets here as predicted) or the usual shopping and errands (if it doesn't), and Sunday, I want to get some reading done and stay out of said snow!

  1. I liked all your answers, and we sure agree on the snow..have a lovely week-end..

  2. I definitely agree with #1. Have a great weekend!

  3. heehee, my mom is like your #1, she can't stand being out in it.
I should think about doing my Christmas cards this weekend, good reminder!
Great list, have a great weekend!

  4. I agree with you on your #1. I'm so over it come the start of March, and I don't like going out in it at all. But sometimes you have to :-| At least my husband only has to go a mile to work!

And we've got an extra treat this year for Christmas---because they are closing down the plant for the 2 weeks from Christmas Eve to January 4th, we are having him for that whole time. AND IT'S ALL PAID (except for the weekends, of course), because they are allowing them to take single days from next year to cover it! Which is good because he had only 2 left for this year, and he just used those since they are our Christmas fund for the kids this year!

Anyhow, if you still want to hear my blather...Enjoy my fill ins and Food 4 Thought!

  5. I am SO with you on number 1 !!

  6. That's what I can do this weekend! Holiday cards!! Thanks for reminding me. :)
I'm allergic to pine trees, too. Plus we have 3 cats & 2 puppies. No trees in our house!! Maybe next year I'll put up garlands & hand ornaments from them.
We just had our 1st decent snow storm & I'm already sick of snow. lol
    Happy Weekend!
